FLOWER BACKS

I find the backs of flowers as, if not more, interesting than their fronts. Two zinnias, on a red background. Their stems are almost shimmering.

 

THEIR LAST DAY

This goes with my interest in exploring the effect of time on natural and human made things. Most people like fresh flowers. I enjoy pictures of really old ones.

Seen from the back in the height of the summer, this sunflower was one of thousands at the Intervale community gardens in the summer of 2003. For the film, "The New Intervale"
